Literary Traces in Bonn: The Clown
Our production site is located in Bonn – that’s why our Advent calendar regularly highlights our beautiful city, which has far more to offer than countless museums, cherry blossom photos, and Rhine-side romance. Bonn has shaped many famous personalities, including the world-renowned writer Heinrich Böll, who had a close connection to the city.
In his novel The Clown, Böll gives Bonn a distinct literary presence: at the end of the story, the protagonist sits at Bonn Central Station, deep in thought and marked by a characteristically Rhenish melancholy. The novel is a wonderful example of how culture, history, and everyday life come together in Bonn.
